The Lord of the Rings is a series of three books (or, to be more precise, six books in three volumes with a prequel entitled The Hobbit) written by J. R. R. Tolkien. They are The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. I've read the whole series through twice (including The Hobbit), and I thoroughly enjoyed them both times. From 2001 to 2003, they were made into movies by New Line Cinema. Perhaps they could have been better, but they surely could have been a lot worse. As they are, they are still some of my favorite movies of all time. I'd say these films present the greatest visual representation of Middle-Earth thus far conceived. It was this that drove me to making some LEGO models based mostly on the films. Here they are...
