Armaments: 1 Energy-Overloading stinger, 2 Machineguns, 2
Turbolasers, 2 Concussion Missiles, 2 Light Rockets
Top Speed: 180 mph
Extra Information: The AAV-AI5 Wasp is the newest and most
high-tech of the Anti-Insectoid vehicles. It is armed to the teeth (though
insects don't any), lightning fast, heavily armored, and packed
with special features. It is piloted by Grimm IV, a clone of Rick's former
comrade Grimm, now the leader of a mercenary army. Grimm IV is the only
one of the many Grimm-clones to ever turn to the side of good. The
first special feature of the Wasp is its stinger, which is similar to the
Mosquito's proboscis. The only difference is that instead of sucking
energy out of a vehicle, it pumps it in. It overloads and fries enemy
ships (or pilots or infantry) with electrical energy. The head of the Wasp
also detaches if things get too hot, and it is a combat effective vehicle in
itself, though it will not fly for long before running out of fuel. The
strangest special feature, however, is the Wasp's capability to detach its
legs and use them as a separate vehicle. Since the wasp can barely drag
its whole body across the land, this is very useful if the pilot is forced
to crawl instead of fly. The vehicle leaves the pilot exposed to enemy
fire, but the mechanical legs are very tough and powerful, and it is extremely fast.
Its longer front legs (actually the back legs of the Wasp when whole) can
smash infantry into a pulpy mush, and crush vehicles while the small
armor-piercing Light Rockets blast them apart.

The Wasp while landed. As you can see, the turbolasers cannot be fired
unless the head is raised a little. The rear-firing Light Rockets can also
be seen near the back of the Wasp's thorax.

Another image of the Wasp... You can see here that the ship has two pairs
of wings, one small and one large, like any self-respecting Hymenopteran (the
order of insects to which wasps, bees, and hornets belong) would!

Paper wasps are some of the downright coolest-looking insects in the
world. This vehicle hardly does them justice.

Here is a shot of the wasp's tail. The wicked stinger pierces the hull of an enemy ship...
or infantry... and sends a surge of electrical power coursing through it!
The end result is a charred heap of slag... or a corpse...

The Wasp is shown here in its strange stinging attack position. In this
position, flight reverts entirely to the power of the stolen Insectoid
wings, leaving the afterburner boosters to maneuver the stinger in for the
strike.

The head detaches in dire situations... It can fly separately, and is
still quite combat effective with its concussion missiles and machineguns.

This is the Wasp's strangest feature... the legs detach to become a land
vehicle!

Here, an unfortunate Insectoid is being pummeled to death.
