I knew the moment I played Halo: Combat Evolved for the first time on
the Xbox that it could have a great background story if they developed
it. And lo and behold, they did... and now Halo is hugely popular with
so many background stories and side-stories that it's hard to keep track
of them all. Well, here's another one for the collection: my fan
fiction. I've also made some fan art, but not much right now. This
section is mostly for the Secret Story of Dustin Echoes.

Elite Armor Permutation: "DRAGON"
So far I'm very disappointed in all of the Elite permutations I've
seen pictures of. They're all too bulbous and rounded. Not
cool-looking at all, which is a shame since the Elites are awesome.
So I designed this fantasy-esque armor for them: DRAGON armor! I
must admit, as much as I like the Viking armor, THIS is probably
what I'd end up playing in multiplayer... a dragon Elite.

Spartan Armor Permutation: "VIKING"
Okay, so Spartan armor is called "MJOLNIR," right? Well, in case you
didn't know, "mjolnir" is the name of Thor's hammer in Norse
mythology. So why not make some VIKING armor as well? For this
design, I went with a combination of Viking myths (horns and wings
on the helmet) and reality (scale mail design and authentic
eye-guard style helmet). Also note the large silver shape on the
chest. That's the traditional design of Mjolnir, Thor's hammer. The
shape was often seen on Norse amulets. Combine this armor with the "valkyrie"
emblem from Halo 2, and BOOM: you'd have the exact Spartan I'd
probably want to play. Because Vikings are AWESOME. |
Spartan Armor Permutation: "LACONIC"
Okay, so Spartans are called "Spartans," right? Well, then why not
make an armor permutation that LOOKS like actual Greek Spartan
armor? Thus I made this. Note the Greek-style helmet and muscular
chest-armor design, all made to look Greek. The shoulder armor,
however is just one of the standard shoulders that will supposedly
be available in Halo 3. Because Spartans didn't really wear shoulder
armor, so I wasn't sure what to do there. Heh. |
Rebas 'Noiproks
This was my original sketch of Rebas, my Elite character from the
fan fiction below, from sometime in 2005. It looks pretty crappy to
me now, as it did to others back when I first drew it. The
unfinished characters standing behind Rebas are, of course, Diana
(inside a Sentinel) and Dustin Echoes. |
Rebas 'Noiproks 2
A slightly-improved version of the previous sketch, but still not
improved enough to actually look very good. I may draw a better
image to go with my fan fiction in the future. |
